With Animals
(2009-2010)
An interactive projection in collaboration with Musion Academy and ZSL London Zoo, With Animals uses motion senses and video cameras to track a person/persons movement across the space of a projection. As a person moves along and through the space a series of animals interact with the viewer. Life sized representations of these animals follow the viewer around the space mimicking their speed and direction. If a person stops so does the animal.
The projects aims to highlight our interaction with nature and how we disassociate our selves and our actions from a wider environment. Within the limits of the city we are can not directly view our effect on nature and animals. The project aims to use rare and endangered species, rising the awareness of animals and habitats that are in peril. We are often aware of the issues that face some of the worlds iconic animals, regularly seen through television, books and advertisements. However the majority of endangered species are unknown by most.

Nature’s Habitat
(MAMA’s 2009)
The first video made for the musion holographic system. Calling attention to the current decline in the worlds natural habitats, emphasising the rate in which this is occurring, minute by minute, hour by hour. If the current rate of deforestation continues, the world’s rain forests will vanish within 100 years, causing unknown effects on global climate and eliminating the majority of plant and animal species on the planet. Nature’s Habitat was shortlisted for the Endangered Species Award at the Musion MAMA’s Awards 2009. It shows initial experimentations with the ZSL filming and Musion projection system.
The proposal for the full scale installation of With Animals, an ongoing project with ZSL London Zoo and Musion Academy. The project runs until spring 2010.
