Inflation
(2008)
LED’s, computer fans, IR sensors, custom electronics, fabric.
In inflation the spherical objects are fitted with infra-red sensors, upon detecting unusual obstacles the spheres inflate slowly coming to life as the light within glow brighter. Once the sensor detects that the obstacle is no longer present the shape deflates as the light dims. These objects guide the viewer through the pitch black built installation space. The constant drone of fans and changing light conditions, have added effect upon the viewer’s senses as they fumble through almost complete darkness.
Inflation is still in it’s early development stages, no further advancements have been made since early 2008. We hope to continue work on this project in the near future, more details to follow.
